Soil Depletion When Nutrients Turn Noxious

If global warming seems ominous, consider this new assessment of how humans have disrupted the natural cycling of nitrogen. By using chemical fertilizers, burning fossil fuels and cultivating crops that convert nitrogen into forms plants can use, humankind has over the past century doubled the total amount of atmospheric nitrogen that is converted, or fixed, every year on land. The nitrogen glut is already causing "serious" loss of soil nutrients, acidification of rivers and lakes, and rising atmospheric concentrations of the greenhouse gas nitrous oxide. Moreover, the oversupply probably explains decreases in the number of species in some habitats, as well as long-term declines in marine fish catches and, in part, the algal blooms that are an unwelcome spectacle in many coastal areas.

That alarming evaluation, to be formally published this summer in Ecological Applications, is the work of eight senior ecologists chaired by Peter M. Vitousek of Stanford University. Their study identifies as the chief culprit the industrial fixation of nitrogen gas to make fertilizer. "The immediacy and rapidity of the recent increase of nitrogen fixation is difficult to overstate," the researchers say. More than half the nitrogen fertilizer ever made before 1990 was used during the single decade of the 1980s, they note.

Industry now fixes 80 million metric tons of nitrogen every year to make fertilizer. Leguminous crops, which harbor nitrogen-fixing bacteria, and fossil fuels, which liberate nitrogen compounds when burned, together make another 60 million tons of nitrogen available to living things. The natural global rate of nitrogen fixation on land is between 90 and 140 million metric tons, and the excess stimulates plant growth. Moreover, by clearing forest and draining wetlands humans make the situation worse, because those activities liberate nitrogen that would otherwise be stored.

The Environmental Protection Agency, recognizing the damage caused by nitrogen oxides from combustion, has introduced regulations to limit by several million tons emissions from power stations and other industrial plants. And it is negotiating further limits on the already tightly controlled amounts emitted by vehicles. But there are no effective federal controls on the amount of chemical fertilizer a farmer can use. "It is my feeling that this is an emerging issue," says Gary T. Gardner of the Worldwatch Institute. Gardner asserts that demand for industrially produced fertilizer could be reduced if farmers instead put on their fields organic mineral fertilizers with recovered municipal food and yard waste, rich sources of nitrogen and carbon that together make up a third of the waste volume.

Employing fertilizers more efficiently might be "our best hope for doing something," Vitousek suggests. The Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund is pressuring the EPA to limit runoff into the Mississippi, which the litigation group contends is responsible for a 7,000-square mile "dead zone" that appears every summer in the Gulf of Mexico. Reductions are possible: some states, including Arizona, have initiated successful incentive programs to lower chemical fertilizer runoff. And some U.S. farmers have reduced artificial fertilizer consumption voluntarily.

A spokesman for the Fertilizer Institute in Washington, D.C., a manufacturers organization, says industry is already developing ways of getting more growth from less fertilizer. But assessments such as Vitousek’s report should, the institute argues, acknowledge the rapid escalation in the human population’s demand for food. It points out that global nitrogen chemical fertilizer use in 1995 was down 3 percent from the peak year of 1988 – although it apparently is on the rise again. Those numbers may need closer scrutiny as the global population zooms to an estimated 10 billion during the next century. Scientific America -Tim Beardsley in Washington, D.C.

MONTMORILLONITE – The SECRET TO LONGEVITY

The Tibetans in Western China, the Hunzas in Eastern Pakistan, the Georgians in Western Russia, the Armenians, the Abkhazians and the Azerbaijanis, the Vilcabamba in Ecuador, and the Titicaca in Peru routinely live to be a 120 or even 140 years old, according to Nobel Prize nominee Dr. Joel Wallach. What is more, these people don’t live in nursing homes; they live full, productive and enjoyable lives.

The reason for their longevity is that they inhabit high altitude areas where the soil contains abundant amounts of montmorillonite clay deposits, a mixture of minerals from mountains and ancient oceanic sediment consisting of seaweed, algae and other calciferous marine life that are believed to have been brought to the surface by volcanic activity and transported to a deposit by precipitation.

Thanks to the monmorillonite, which soil experts value as an exceptionally good agricultural enhancement, their crops taste better, grow faster, and are more resistant to diseases. The balance of natural colloidal minerals, including the essential trace minerals present in montmorillonite are easy to assimilate and enhance the production of enzymes in all living organisms.

Dr. Edward Howell, the father of modern enzyme research, proposes that enzyme deficiency is a significant cause of premature aging and the development of numerous degenerative diseases.

Similarly, plants grown on impoverished soil, deficient of minerals and nutrients, are more vulnerable to damage from insects and diseases and produce little more than malnourished bodies. Dr. D.W. Cavanaugh of Cornell University, writes: "There is only one major disease and that is malnutrition. "

Chemical fertilizers gained a stronghold in American agriculture after it was discovered at the turn of the century that plants fed with the scientific trinity NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) could survive and look fairly good. However, 40 or more years later, concerned ecologists and agriculturists were able to prove that chemical fertilizers that are toxic and the lack of proper natural nutrients in the soil caused plant vulnerability to fungus and insects, leading to more crop loss and soil depletion.

For optimum health the human body requires more than 70 minerals, Dr. Jensen, the author of the book "Empty Harvest" and other authorities on the subject agree that it would be fairly easy to put these desperately needed minerals back into our soil.

Colloidal soil can actually boost the content of vitamins, minerals and enzymes in plants, thus benefiting every entity from the plants themselves, to animals and people.

Colloidal soil works in harmony with, and encourages, proper PH balance, humus content, micro-organisms, NK, water, sunlight and all great growing practices to create the most delicious and nutritious food possible.
Colloidal soils have been used for many years to produce colloidal minerals for man and beast, which have been proven effective in halting and before that reversing degenerative disease. Pioneers have used colloidal soil for almost a century in food production and by the native Indians for who knows how long to fertilize their corn, squash and other corps.

Colloidal soil, when added to other growing medium becomes the final link in restoring the complete electrical process between soil, plant, animal, and human. It is also beneficial in restoring agricultural land from the effects of pollution, acidification, nitrogen fixation (chemical fertilizers) that increase crop yields, chemicals to reduce or destroy mold, fungus, viruses, bugs and parasites. It even minimizes crop failure due to extreme weather or radical temperature shifts.

A few of the best books about colloidal soil that examines the effects of depleted soils and some of its effects on human, plant and animal health on the subject of mineral supplementation can be found in, "The Clay Cure" by Ran Knishinsky, "The Healing Power of Living Clay" by Neva Jensen, "Our Earth Our Cure" by Raymond Dextreit, "The Healing Clay" by Michael Abehsera, "Rare Earths Forbidden Cure" by Dr. Joel Wallach, "The Secret Life of Plants" and "Secrets of the Soil" by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird.

Unless our depleted soils are restored with proper nutrients on a massive scale, continued erosion and increases in chronic and acute diseases are inevitable. We can counteract this to a certain extent by ingesting these much-needed nutrients directly, in the form of dense green chlorophyll rich foods and natural mineral supplements.

If you have not tried "MICRO-NUTRILITE ", a supplement that is a powerhouse of natural mineral nutrients, you should! You may not live to be 140, but you can rest assured that you are providing your body with one of the most optimum natural nutritional sources known. Animals and plants can equally benefit from this same source of nutrients.

MICRO NUTRILITE The Ultimate Health Maintenance Supplement

It is a proven fact that a body free of toxins is a body void of most sickness and disease. Through the discovery of a rare, special type of clay (called calcium montmorillonite), US ORGANIC MARKETING has found the key to unlock and release toxins that are trapped in the body—restoring energy and vitality, leading to a longer, healthier life.

It is a sad reality that the earth’s overall population is in a serious state of diminishing health. In our busy, modern world of today, there is a lack of interest in preserving the body; as a result, numerous diseases have surfaced and become common-place. In addition, because of society’s destructive impulses, the inadequate preservation of the environment has led to the extreme depletion of many nutrients in our soils. They are now lacking the macro, micro, and trace mineral elements necessary for our crops to flourish, or even grow. Our commercially grown foods now lack the necessary nutrients that are essential for optimum health. Even “organically grown” livestock and crops suffer from the constant chemical assault on the earth.

Now there is hope. Where the eastern and western methods of medicine have been combined to form the most effective remedy for health maintenance and prevention, US ORGANIC MARKETING brings you MICRO NUTRILITE, the natural healer.

Thanks to the discovery and abundant supply of a rare form of calcium montmorillonite, a living clay existing in a unique deposit in the desert valleys PANACA, NV, it is now possible to heal the natural way—by reversing the damaging effects done to our bodies. This “living clay” has proven to be a powerful detoxifying agent, and an extraordinary source of the nutrients necessary to achieve and maintain long-term, optimum health in humans and animals.

What does it do?

MICRO NUTRILITE is a detoxifier and a natural healer. It helps combat parasites, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), nausea and vomiting, ulcers, hepatitis and cirrhosis, allergies and hay fever, anemia, acne, eczema, and even bad breath. But the clay activity goes much further than these problems. In addition to acting as a natural antiviral and antibiotic, it addresses the entire body. All things unhealthy—emitting negative energy—are irresistibly attracted to the positive energy in the “living clay,” healing and detoxifying the body naturally through the normal channels of elimination.
Many people turn to drugs that offer fast relief of their symptoms, only to find they are not treating the actual cause. MICRO NUTRILITE focuses on healing at the source, seeking the “root cause” of the symptom, resulting in a longer, healthier life free of many of the ailments previously accepted as part of day-to-day life.

MICRO NUTRILITE is also a preventative medicine. Of course, we all know that it is better to prevent a disease than have to manage it. In addition, preventing sickness and disease is the best method to maintaining a healthy, balanced body. When taken daily, MICRO NUTRILITE works with the body to boost the immune system, empowering its ability to fight off germs, viruses, and disease.

How does it work?
There are over 78 macro, micro and trace essential mineral elements in MICRO NUTRILITE , all in a negatively charged ionic form. Through a natural detoxification process, these negative ions are assimilated throughout the body. They bond with and draw out the positively charged toxins, bacterium, and pathogens found throughout, especially in the digestive system, through a natural process known as “opposite polarity attraction.” It’s really that simple.

What studies have been done?
We are not making these claims on our own. US ORGANIC MARKETING products have attracted the attention of serious researchers from the US Federal government to colleges and universities, to corporations and independent labs across the country, including nationally renowned nutritionists, geologists, and clay mineralogists. Several scientists have explored the beneficial health effects of CEM’s calcium montmorillonite on everything from animal physiology to electron spin resonance, most notably Neva Jensen at the University of Wyoming, Dr. Verne Mendel at the University of California at Davis and Drs. Ershoff and Bernick at the USC School of Medicine. The U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife has studied the successful use of this “living clay” in the nutrition of fish. Research at Texas A&M focused on the physiology of poultry. And NASA’s Manned Spacecraft Center examined the physiological effects of this remarkable clay on human subjects—the clay was even given to astronauts for calcium depletion, as a result of zero gravity in space.

US ORGANIC MARKETING has developed products capable of cleansing humans and animals of the many chemicals, toxins and pathogens that are now so prevalent in our bodies, as well as the environment. We are committed to total body healing through the power of this astonishing clay.

Whether you need to detoxify, boost your immune system, or simply maintain optimum, balanced health, MICRO NUTRILITE can help. Join the thousands of others that enjoy the long-term benefits of MICRO NUTRILITE—you will be amazed with what it does for you……

Montmorillonite

By M. Dikkers, Research Biochemist

Montmorillonite was known by Indian medicine men for many years and used by them as a healing agent, to be placed on open wounds and also used internally in cases of stomach and intestinal upsets.

The feeding, of Montmorillonite clay minerals to animals and man is an ancient accepted practice in many areas of the world. The physiological value of Montmorillonite is due to the fact that it contains many trace elements.

In 1932, I started research in feeding rabbits and hogs with scours. The results obtained on these scoury animals was extremely successful. These results were considered interesting but no one was interested in commercial promotion at the time.

Years later interest in Montmorillonite and the natural clay minerals skyrocketed due to the research of many scientists around the world. Outstanding research was done for NASA Manned Spacecraft Center by Dr. B. H. Ershoff. Dr. Ershoff demonstrated the growth promoting properties of Montmorillonite in fattening cattle, chickens, and turkeys.

Research on Montmorillonite has shown that the natural clay mineral retards the process of bone decalcification, a well known occurrence in the process of aging. Natural clay minerals are of prehistoric oceanic origin; composed of prehistoric crustaceans and prehistoric algae (seaweeds).
Why this sudden renewed interest in Montmorillonite? The one and only reason is the presence of trace elements in Montmorillonite, and the important research and information obtained on their vital importance on all forms of living creatures. Trace elements are referred to as biological catalysts or oligo elements.

The research on trace elements was originated by Dr. Alexis Carrel, French 1912 Nobel Prize Laureate, and continued by the International Center for Biological Research in Geneva, Switzerland.' Sir Stanley Davidson, professor of clinical medicine at the University of Edinburgh, referred to these trace elements as "functional Nutrients", meaning that they perform a definite cellular function. Dr. Davidson mentioned that a diet must supply a proper balance of essential nutrients, and functional nutrients, to insure overall physiological perfection, that is, perfect health.

KEY TO HEALTH:
Trace elements are the key to health be it plant, animal or man. Vitamins do not function without the presence of trace elements. Enzymes are activated by trace elements. Without enzymes, no important chemical processes in the body can take place. The synthesis of proteins within cells does not take place without trace elements.

This is one of the most important chemical synthesis (manufacturing) taking place in living tissues, for the reason that the chemical activities in all living cells (the building blocks of all living tissues) is sustained by catalysts. We call these catalysts enzymes, and all enzymes, without exception, are proteins. Every living cell, be it plant, animal or man, is a little chemical factory and the seat of intense chemical activities.
The proteins of every species differ chemically and biologically. The difference seems to be in their trace element patterns which act as the determinant of protein specificity. The body of plant, animal and man, without trace minerals, is bankrupt. All life lives because of the presence of trace minerals in the surrounding medium (soil), or within the blood circulation wherein the nutrients are delivered to all cells of the body in both animal and man.

We cannot manufacture the red coloring matter of the blood without a trace of copper, even though we have plenty of iron. We can not manufacture vitamin B 12 unless we have a trace of cobalt. A trace of zinc is needed by the pancreas to be able to manufacture insulin. Soils today in the U.S.A. are trace element deficient due to the year after year heavy application of artificial chemical fertilizers.

Zinc deficiencies in soils exist in 41 states. Manganese deficiencies in soils exist in 30 states. Molybdenum deficiencies in soils exist in 27 states. Iron deficiencies in soils exist in 25 states, and copper deficiencies in solid exist in 14 states.

Most foods raised today in the U.S.A. are likely to be deficient in trace mineral elements. There exists, this day, a 70 per cent drop of copper content in corn. Trace elements are present in whole wheat, but are removed in the milling process. Plants, animals and man depend upon the soil for their supply of trace elements, and if our soils are deficient it speaks for itself that plant, animal and man will be deficient in these elements.

There is convincing evidence of the relationship between human malnutrition and soil malnutrition, between soil health and human health. Malnutrition today exists in 70 per cent of U.S. citizens over the age of 65. Trace elements are only needed in infinitely minute amounts, as little as one part in 20,000.

In Montmorillonite, the trace elements have been laid down by nature, no human hand has ever touched them, and nature has not refined them in any way, shape or form.

Edible Clays (Calcium Montmorillonite)

Both human and animal ingestion of calcium montmorillonite minerals have been an acceptedpractice throughout the world for many years. Calcium montmorillonite mineral deposits havebeen used by Native American healers for centuries as an internal and external healing agent.
The Native Americans would use mineral rich clay on open wounds and for stomach or intestinaldistress. The key to these healing benefits is the natural form in which these minerals are found.

Montmorillonite belongs to the smectite group of clays. There are two types of montmorillonite, sodium and calcium. Sodium montmorillonite is commonly known as bentonite; the name is derived from the location of the first commercial deposit mined at Fort Benton, Wyoming USA.

Bentonite principally consists of sodium montmorillonite in combination with 10 to 20% of various mineral impurities such as feldspars, calcite, silica, gypsum, etc. Sodium montmorillonite clays are the industrial clays used in things like: plaster, oil well drilling mud, cat litter, matches, cement tiles, lubricating grease, paints, copy paper, dynamite, shoe polish, concrete, cleaning agents, wall boards, crayons, and bleaching agents to mention a few.

Calcium montmorillonite, the second type of montmorillonite, is also known as "living clay" for it principally consists of minerals that enhance the production of enzymes in all living organisms.US ORGANIC MARKETING calcium montmorillonite is called EXCELERITE. It is the preferred choice to use for soil, plants, animals and humans, especially when ingested, hence "edible clays. "

Benefits of calcium montmorillonite minerals have been documented in research conducted by many scientists and leading universities. Dr. B.H. Ershoff, from the University of SouthernCalifornia School of Medicine, conducted research for NASA which demonstrated the growth promoting properties of calcium montmorillonite minerals in cattle. Dr. Quisenberry, from TexasA&M, researched the beneficial effects of calcium montmorillonite clays when fed to many farm animals including horses, pigs, chickens, etc. Neva Jensen, a nationally known nutrition expert, wrote a book on montmorillonite called "The Healing Power of Living Clay," explaining how the nutrients in certain clays are assimilated in our bodies. The US Department of Fish and Wildlife conducted similar studies on trout fish on the Snake River in Hagerman, Idaho revealing the same health promoting effects. All of these studies were specific to montmorillonite.

The benefits of montmorillonite are due to the mineral content or trace elements which are vital to the cellular functions of all forms of living creatures. Perfect health can only be obtained by a diet which supplies a proper balance of essential nutrients. Trace mineral elements are necessary for vitamins and enzymes to function. Without enzymes the body can not activate certain chemical processes like digestion or the synthesis of proteins within cells.

For example:
" A trace of Copper is needed for the synthesis of hemoglobin.
" A trace of Cobalt is needed to make vitamin B 12.
" A trace of Zinc is needed by the pancreas to manufacture insulin.

However, modern agricultural practices jeopardize our health. Our farming techniques use the soil over and over for high yield mass production, depleting the soil and the crops of vital essential elements. As soil health declines, crop health falters and farmers become increasingly reliant upon synthetic petroleum-based fertilizers to artificially replenish the soil with nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium (NPK); only three essential elements. The tradeoff for adding synthetic enhancers is that the living soil remains deprived of naturally occurring bacteria that produce nitrogen, thus the soil is dying and crops actually become dependent on artificial fertilizer to sustain life. Aquifers are now contaminated with nitrates that were leached from farmlands. The combination of leaching from rain and irrigation, overuse of the land, and chemical fertilizers deteriorates the level of nutrients in our soil. As a result, most of the food grown is deficient in trace mineral elements. The few trace mineral elements that remain are removed during processing, e.g., the milling of wheat.

These same crops are used in turn to feed the animals we use for food. Mass production rids these animals of their natural grazing habits, so animal feeds are needed to supplement or replace their natural food sources. The plant life used to create animal feed is deficient of naturally occurring trace elements, therefore, the animals are robbed of these life giving nutrients.

Studies have shown that there is a relationship between human malnutrition and the depletion of trace elements in soil. According to the USDA, we would have to eat 75 bowls spinach in order to get the same amount of iron as one bowl eaten in 1948. As a result, malnutrition exists in 57% of US citizens over the age of 65! To slow (and eventually reverse) this malnutrition trend, we need to look more closely at nature and learn a more complete picture of health.

Animals are instinctively selective about the types of minerals they will ingest, shunning sedimentary minerals in favor of mineral deposits formed by igneous hydrothermal activity.

Extensive studies with cattle, horses, pigs, fish, chickens and other animals have shown that the volume of food intake is less when mineral supplements are added to the their diet. Additional benefits are noted as well, for example, increases in butter fat and milk output are documented from dairy cows. These improvements have been found in all studies using a specific type of calcium montmorillonite.

Not all calcium montmorillonite is the same. In order to absorb the trace elements, these elements must be of a small size. Neva Jensen states that montmorillonite has the advantage of increased exchange properties since the US ORGANIC MARKETING calcium montmorillonite deposit has undergone extensive hydrothermal exposure. These favorable properties were created naturally from igneous activity deep in the fissures of the earth, bringing boiling water to the surface of the earth, and creating extensive pools of bubbling mud. These bubbling pools churn the calcium montmorillonite, adding beneficial trace minerals and breaking down the larger size parent material. Over a long period of time this activity brings about complete fragmentation or crystallization and hydrolysis of the clay making it readily available for absorption.

Mineral deposits formed by igneous activity in bubbling mud-pots have a calcium magnesium complex which have a powerful negative charge. Minerals are found throughout North America, however, Montmorillonite (EXCELERITE )is found in a region where the rainfall is minimal, moisture is non-existent, and temperature consistently high. This combination of arid conditions keeps the ion in an 'open ion state' that is more usable. Deposits which are found in Northern areas where there is rain, snowfall and leaching are not as likely to be found in an 'open ion state', thereby being of lower quality and grade. The negative ion charge is best used by the body for detoxification purposes. All toxins are positively charged. In nature, opposites attract. Thus, the negative ions attract the toxins’ positive ions, facilitating the movement of toxins through the kidneys or lymphatic system to a site of normal excretion of the toxins.

EXCELERITE can help to improve our health; from replenishing our soil with vital essential elements, to improving the vitality of our plant and animal foods, and by removing toxins from our bodies.
Native Americans knew this. Animals instinctively know this. Scientific, medical, and agricultural research has proven this. Use life promoting Montmorillonite......

Dietary Basics: Supplemental Minerals Support General Health

Everyone can benefit from mineral supplementation, regardless of age, income, or health status. And although we’ve heard the statement that you can get all the vitamins and minerals you need from a well balanced diet, there is a growing body of evidence to the contrary.

Diet Provides Few Minerals

The fact is that we do not live in a perfect environment. We endure various levels of air and water pollution, any amount of which will interfere with our normal bodily processes and our need for nourishment. We are constantly barraged with unnatural, synthetic, poisonous compounds, not to mention the additional insults to the immune system caused by an overwhelming growth of new various and bacteria strains. Add to this the free radical theory of degenerative disease, and we now have a solid scientific basis for added dietary supplementation.

Minerals once obtained from foods are no longer available like they once were, thanks to our overworked farmlands, declining soil quality, and progressive nutrient losses that accompany processing, shipping, cooking and reheating. Yet scientific research worldwide continually demonstrates the need for adequate minerals in the diet.

For instance, proper zinc levels are necessary to produce an immune modulating substance, called interleukin-2, that activates our white blood cells. Zinc also helps stimulate natural killer cells against viruses and bacteria. Iron (within normal limits) also provides adequate stimulation for natural killer cells.

Studies show that supplementing these nutrients may not produce a direct increase in white blood cells, but can produce statistically significant changes in immune modulators. Furthermore, immune-related infections in supplemented patients are less frequent than in those not supplemented. Studies show that patients taking supplemental nutrients can cut their yearly sick days nearly in half, simply by nourishing the immune system naturally.

Medications Deplete Minerals

Also, we need to understand the importance of adequate nutrition as we age. The fact is, older people need extra nutrients. Elderly people tend to eat less food due to a variety of reasons including dental problems, digestive problems, and mobility problems. Also, older people have decreased absorption capacity due to digestive difficulties, ulcerative
colitis, and increased medication use.

For instance, many patients on heart or high blood pressure medications frequently take water-wasting pharmaceuticals that dramatically reduce potassium, magnesium, chromium, selenium, and other minerals the heart and blood vessels need. Replacing only potassium (a common recommendation) will help avoid the most common disastrous side affect of heart attack, but certainly does not replace the other minerals
these medications can reduce.

Extended aspirin use can not only deplete vitamin C levels, but folic acid and iron as well. As patients taking corticosteroids like Cortisone need to understand that they are subsequently secreting higher levels of potassium, zinc, and magnesium. Certain cancer medications (like Cosmegen and Mithracin) can dramatically reduce calcium levels. All of these things support the rationale for supplementing with both macro and trace
minerals.

Supplemental Minerals Provide Vital Support

Minerals are our simplest nutrients, but may be the most important of all. Minerals circulate freely through the body and are eagerly taken up by organs and tissues, while helping build healthy bones, generate energy, and accomplish a myriad of other essential tasks. In fact, many vitamins will not provide benefits unless adequate mineral levels are present.

When looking for a good mineral supplement the subject of absorption is crucial. Minerals in solid form are difficult for the body to digest, especially without the required enzymes. When supplements are taken and a load of nutrients enter digestion, the body is not able to process everything at once and much is wasted, especially elemental, non-chelated minerals. Colloidally suspended minerals diffused gradually throughout the
body have a prolonged therapeutic action. I believe the colloidal preparations are superior to tablet supplements.

Colloidal Minerals Provide Greater Benefits

The term “colloidal” refers to a substance that consists of ultra fine particles, in this case minerals, suspended in solution. Most of the important bodily fluids are colloidal in nature. In 1919, A.B. Searl wrote: “Drugs employed to combat disease should be in a colloidal state.” This makes drugs isotonic with the elements of the body, which also helps exert a more complete potency.

Because the minerals are placed in a colloidal suspension they are in a minute particulate form that allows greater surface area contact with the digestive tract, which translates into maximum absorption. I believe a colloidal mineral complex is essential to everyone’s daily dietary program.

Montmorillonite -Micro Nutrilite - the clay that can heal your body

‘In the beginning God gave to every people a cup of clay; and, from this cup they drank their life’.We have, long, heard of people eating clay known as either ‘geophagy’ (pronounced…gee-off-uh-gee), or, ‘pica’. Taber's Cyclopedia Medical Dictionary defines geophagy as ‘a condition in which the patient eats inedible substances such as chalk, or earth’. And, it defines pica as ‘a perversion of appetite with cravings for substances not fit for food such as clay, ashes or plaster’.This craving I perceive is not perverted at all; but, makes sense when you know what clay contains and what it does for the body. It has been credited with improving the health of many people suffering from a wide range of illnesses. These include: constipation, diarrhea, anemia, chronic infections and ‘outfections’, skin ailments (such as eczema and acne), heavy-metal poisoning, exposure to pesticides (and other, acidic, toxins), arthritis, acid reflux, infertility, liver disease and obesity. It is the ‘secret ingredient’ in the treatment of hair-loss and diabetes, (both Type I and Type II)!

Clay provides an impressive assortment of minerals, including calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, manganese, sodium and silica -- all alkalizing to the blood and tissues and foundational in the production of other elements through nuclear transformations or biological transformations. The minerals in this very special clay exist in natural proportion to one another. This encourages their absorption by the intestinal villi. The body can tolerate a deficiency of vitamins for a longer period of time than a deficiency of minerals. A slight change in the blood concentration of important minerals can rapidly endanger life! In a clay mineral the elements of oxygen, silica, and potassium are spheres arranged in a regular three-dimensional pattern. The spheres are the building-blocks of the clay minerals; and, the arrangement of the spheres determines the type of mineral. The character of the clay mineral group determines the type of clay and its eventual use. In other words, the clay mineral structure gives an understanding of its specific properties.Among the clays suitable for eating, is Montmorillonite, the most common and the most sought-after. Montmorillonite clay was named after the town of Montmorillon, France where it was first identified. The mineral clay belongs to a group of clays known as smectite, a word that describes its layered structure.

The smectites are one of seven clay mineral groups. Each group contains a certain number of species and variations on the layered structure. The clay that I recommend is structured in a single silica tetrahedron and is the main building-block of Montmorillonite clay and the best clay for eating.Montmorillonite Clay is an old Home-Remedy that people have used since the beginning of time for various reasons. And it is my personal belief that Montmorillonite Clay was possibly the Manna that was given to the children of Israel by God as they wandered through the wilderness for 40 years. Its origins are as simple and basic as the old practice of putting mud on a bee sting. Montmorillonite Clay comes from deposits near Montmorillon, France and is also found in Redmond, Utah. Geologically speaking, Montmorillonite Clay is a volcanic ash which was deposited in sea water. By modern definition it is a swelling-type clay in its ‘natural’ state with no additives, chemicals or preservatives. The only processing it undergoes is crushing.

What Makes Montmorillonite Clay So Special?

The Montmorillonite Clay minerals occur in very small or colloidal particles. They are extremely fine-grained and thin-layered…more so than any of the other clay minerals. The layers contain ions that are very loosely, bound to one another…and, easily exchangeable. Not only will acidic toxins stick to its outside surface; but, numerous toxic elements and organic matter will enter the space between the layers.

In addition to its already unique structure, Montmorillonite Clay has a particularly large surface area when properly hydrated with distilled water…which further boosts its adsorptive and absorptive properties

These two words look alike but their difference is critical in understanding the functions of Montmorillonite Clay minerals. Adsorption characterizes the process by which substances stick to the outside surface of the adsorbent medium. The clay possesses unsatisfied ionic bonds around the edges of its mineral particles. It naturally seeks to satisfy those bonds. For this to happen it must meet with a substance carrying an opposite electrical or ionic charge. When this occurs, the ions held around the outside structural units of the adsorbent medium and the substance are exchanged. The particles of Montmorillonite Clay carry a negative, electrical charge; whereas, impurities or toxins carry a positive electrical charge. For this very reason Montmorillonite Clay has been used to adsorb the colloidal impurities (alcohol and other exotoxins and mycotoxins) in beer, wine, liquor, and cider. The impurities in wine carry positive charges; and, can be chelated or coagulated (bound together) and removed by stirring a small amount of negatively-charged Montmorillonite Clay material into the wine or beer. The clay particles attract the mycotoxins or alcohol in the wine or beer and they settle to the bottom of the bottle or glass together.

The process works the same in the human body. When Montmorillonite Clay is taken internally the positively-charged exotoxins and mycotoxins are attracted by the negatively-charged edges of the clay mineral. An exchange reaction occurs; whereby, the clay swaps its ions for those of the other substance. Now electrically satisfied it holds the acidic toxin in suspension until the body can eliminate both. The term ‘active’ or ‘alive’ indicates the ionic exchange capacities of a given clay mineral. The degree to which the clay mineral ions become active determine its classification as ‘alive’. Living bodies are able to grow and change their form and function by taking within themselves ‘lifeless’ material of certain kinds; and, biologically transforming it into a part of themselves. No dead body can adsorb just as no dead battery can provide energy. It is, physically impossible. That is why Montmorillonite Clay is such a powerful substance.

IT IS ALIVE!!!!!

Chemically and structurally Montmorillonite Clay is shaped like a credit card with negative charges on the flat surface and positive charges at the edges. Therefore, the negative charge is many times more powerful than the positive charge. One gram of Montmorillonite Clay has a surface area of 800 square meters. To give that some serious perspective that's about ten football fields! The greater the surface area of the clay the greater the power to pick up positively-charged particles or acidic toxins many times its own weight. If we go back to our base physical components we can safely say that we are built from multitudes of particles (from dust you are and to dust you will return) held together by electrical bonds. Electrical forces are what hold atoms and molecules together. Chemical bonds and reactions depend on the electrical forces. Therefore, all chemical reactions are in essence reorganization of electrical forces which continue to be vital at body levels, i.e., tissues and organs. When this is all taken into account a living organism is shown to be an extremely intricate electrical system.During sickness or disease the vital life-force is weak and incapable of supporting the body and its functions. In health and fitness however the opposite occurs: the life-force or ‘zeta potential’ is strong and able to counteract sickness and disease (or, should I say spoiling and rotting). What keeps the white blood cells moving and doing their work of clearing out toxins is the energy that feeds it, the substance of life – the ‘zeta potential’. The body will not run well; or, will at least run with all sorts of mechanical problems when there is no life-force energy or ‘zeta potential’ to support it.When Montmorillonite Clay is consumed its vital life-force or ‘zeta potential’ is released into the physical body; and, mingles with the vital life-force of the body creating a stronger, more powerful energy in the host. Its, colloidal particles are agents of stimulation and transformation capable of withholding and releasing energy at impulse. The natural magnetic action transmits a remarkable power to the organism and helps to rebuild vital ‘potential’ through the liberation of latent energy. When it is in contact with the body its very nature compels it to release its vital force: the, vital force from which so many plants and animals feed. Therefore, in order to create health and true fitness the body MUST BE STIMULATED and, stimulated by another working energy like Montmorillonite Clay!

When the white cells, the garbage collectors of our body fluids do not function at their best the Montmorillonite Clay supports the body's inner resources to awaken the stagnant energy by binding exotoxins and mycotoxins. It also supplies the body with the available magnetism to run WELL! In this way the body's natural immune system has an improved chance of restoring the alkaline pH by removing morbid matter and acidic toxins thereby maintaining health and fitness.

How is Montmorillonite Clay Used Externally in the Normal Old Home-Remedies?

The Montmorillonite Clay has a consistency of mustard and is ready to eat or it can be mixed in water. Old-Timers would apply the gel/paste directly to the skin for a drawing-effect as in the case of a bee sting, mosquito bite, boil, spider bite, stinging nettle, etc. If the clay is not covered it will dry out; and, as it dries you will feel it draw and pull. If you want a tightening-effect as in the case of a facial for acne, pimples, or minor cuts leave it on until it is almost, but not totally dry. Then remove with a warm wet washcloth and, splash with warm water to remove all traces of the clay. If you want an even more ‘cooling and soothing effect’ such as for burns or scrapes and bruises; cover the gel with a plastic covering or wet cloth so that it won’t dry out. If users were not sure which technique would suit their needs best they often alternated between covered and uncovered applications of the clay. Montmorillonite Clay has been applied once or twice daily or even left in place overnight, as desired.Other external uses for the Montmorillonite Clay have been as a fine talcum powder or a diapering powder.

Instructions for using Micro Nutrilite Montmorillonite Clay: There are many different ways of using the Montmorillonite Clay externally; but, most all start out with the gel. Make the gel about the consistency of mayonnaise or mustard by mixing 2 parts water with 1 part Montmorillonite Clay. Apply generously in a ½ inch to ¾ inch layer directly onto the skin. An alternative that allows for more mobility is to apply the Clay on a piece of ‘cheese cloth’; and, fold the cloth as ifmaking a ‘burrito’. Secure to the skin with an ‘Ace’ bandage. After applying there are several options:Uncovered: Some people apply the Montmorillonite Clay leaving it uncovered allowing it to dry. As it dries it will ‘draw’ or ‘pull’. Remove before the clay is totally dry.

Covered with Cloth: Covering the Montmorillonite Clay with a cloth will secure it to the desired spot and cause the clay to dry more slowly.

Doing this enables you to leave the clay in place overnight or to be able to be mobile during the day without the clay transferring to clothing and household furniture. Wetting the cloth with water will slow the drying rate and increase the ‘cooling sensation’. Again remove the clay pack before it is totally dry; and, replace it with a fresh application of Montmorillonite Clay gel, if desired.

Covered with Plastic: Covering the Montmorillonite Clay with plastic wrap or a plastic bag keeps the clay from drying at all which is the desired effect if you are applying it to a burn. Even though the clay will not dry when covered with plastic some people prefer to replace it twice daily. Other people have found that even leaving the pack in tact on a burn for two or three days will produce beautiful new ‘pink skin’. Using the Dry Montmorillonite Clay: People say using it as a baby powder causes diaper rash to disappear before the next diaper change. Some people have reported a ‘drawing-healing action’ when the clay is applied to an open infected wound.

If you have never used clay before and plan on using it for the first time on your skin expect a REAL TREAT! Here are some testimonies from people after using the Montmorillonite Clay for four weeks:
